Junior Acting for Stage + Screen

Monday 4-6pm | Studio 1: Noosa Leisure Centre | $290/term

(Open to students Grade 3-6 in 2024)

This class allows students to explore the multifaceted and exciting craft of Acting for both Stage and Screen. Under the guidance of experienced coaches Amanda Foreman and Alice Claringbold, students will learn about the different aspects of multimedia performance and acting for camera techniques. Each week students will explore foundational acting techniques, develop their craft behind the camera and work on incorporating multimedia elements into live performance. Welcoming all experience levels, this class is perfect for students who wish to explore their creativity in performance for productions across stage and film.

NEW IN 2024

  • In 2024 this class has two showing opportunities. At the end of semester one, the students will present an in-house showing for families to share their work. The class will round out the year by showing their work at the 2024 Acting & Film Showcase.

Intermediate & Senior Acting for Stage + Screen

(Open to students Grade 3-6 in 2024)

Ideal for students who are learning the art of acting and want to discover their creative side in a fun environment. This class focuses on theatre games, building confidence and exploring foundational acting skills. Students will develop skills in improvisation, script work and stage confidence. Your child will leave this class each week with some freshly acquired skills and a massive smile on their face.

NEW STUDIO LOCATION IN 2024: POMONA

  • In 2024 this class has two showing opportunities. At the end of semester one, the students will present an in-house showing for families to share their work. The class will finish semester two with an End of Year production that is TBA.

Ideal for students who are learning the art of acting and want to discover their creative side in a fun environment. This class focuses on theatre games, building confidence, cultivating friendships and exploring foundational acting skills. Exploring script work, improvisational skills and character building, this class is perfect for performances of all experience levels to grow and learn in a supportive environment.

With plenty of theatre games and character building activities, this class is perfect for nurturing the creative passion in our littlest of performers. This class allows children to be themselves, try new things and build skills as performers in a safe and inclusive environment.

  • In 2024 this class has two performance opportunities. At the end of semester one, the students will present an in-house showing for families to share their work. The second occurs in Term 4 when the class partakes in the Junior Acting Extension production of ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’.

Tiny Tots IPA (Integrated Performing Arts)

Designed for our littlest kids, this class is perfect for encouraging a creative brain, developing social skills and building foundational performance techniques. With expert guidance, this program will explore curriculum across a range of performance disciplines to provide children with a versatile and fun learning experience. This class is perfect for nurturing a creative mind and allowing our youngest performers to begin their drama journey.

Mini Musical Theatre

This class is all about letting students explore their creative side in a safe, comfortable environment while learning various skills in the disciplines of singing, acting and movement. Fostering creativity and embedding key skills at a young age, this is the perfect class for children of all experience levels to flourish. Designed for our smallest of performers, this class also includes a snack break. This class is perfect for young performers who are looking to release their creativity through the exciting art of Musical Theatre.

The first occurs in the final week of the June/July school holidays as the class partakes in the Junior Musical, ‘The Wizard Of Youth Edition’, staged at The J Noosa. Students will need to be available for rehearsals in the week leading up to the performances. Then the class will prepare a performance for the end of year 2024 Musical Theatre Showcase.

MUSICAL THEATRE CLASS UPDATE

Please note the following change to our Junior, Intermediate & Senior Musical Theatre programs commencing Term 1, 2024.

As we aim to provide the more specialised training, the Musical Theatre program is now a two-afternoon a week commitment. All students are required to attend the Wednesday Core Class session. This session will be focused on Singing & Acting for Musical Theatre. In addition to this, students are required to attend ONE dance choreography session on either Monday or Tuesday. All students are required to attend both weekly sessions to participate in the Musical Theatre program.

This class is all about providing students with the resources and encouragement necessary to be the confident and skilled young performers they are. Each week the class will train in the key disciplines of singing, dancing and acting to develop their skills and become versatile young performers. This class is perfect for aspiring young performers and with a safe, encouraging environment, we can ensure that your child will leave each class with a beaming smile on their face!

  • In 2024 this class has two performance opportunities. The first occurs in the final week of the June/July school holidays as the class partakes in the Junior Musical, ‘The Wizard of Oz Youth Edition’, staged at The J Noosa. Students will need to be available for rehearsals in the week leading up to the performances. Then the class will prepare a performance for the end of year 2024 Musical Theatre Showcase.

    Important Dates

    This class will have regular weekend rehearsals for The Wizard of Oz in Term 2. These will be confirmed in the audition information packet released early 2024.

This class gives performers of all experience levels the chance to realise their potential in an inclusive and supportive environment. In our weekly classes, students train with our Musical Theatre coaches in a variety of genres that are guaranteed to develop students into versatile performers. This class is perfect for students looking to challenge themselves and develop skills that allow them to become the triple threat performer that they dream of. Experienced coaches and high-value performance opportunities also help prepare students for tertiary training.

  • In 2024 this class has two performance opportunities. The first occurs in the first week of the September school holidays as the class partakes in a full-length musical, ‘Mary Poppins’, staged at The J Noosa. Students will need to be available for rehearsals in the week leading up to the performances. The production will then tour to the Events Centre Caloundra for a limited season in October. Students will also need to be available for the Caloundra Tech Rehearsals that occur in Week 1, Term 4. Then the class will prepare a performance for the end of year 2024 Musical Theatre Showcase.

    Important Dates

    This class will have Mary Poppins rehearsals on Sundays in Term 3

    Mary Poppins Caloundra Production Week: Thursday 3rd October - Sunday 6th October

With a variety of performance opportunities, students will be challenged to develop their skills and become more versatile performers. Each week, the class trains in essential performance skills such as character building and stage confidence to help them become the best performers they can be.

  • In 2024, this class has three performance opportunities. In Term 2, the class will present an end of semester showcase. In Term 3, the class will prepare a one-act play for the Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Festival. There is also the opportunity for students in this class to enter the Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod. In Term 4, this class will present a full-length production of Fantastic Mr Fox.

    Term 2 - Tuesday 4th June: End of semester showcase

    Term 3 - Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Festival *Specific dates TBA by event organisers.

    Term 3 - *Optional entry in Sunshine Coast Youth Eisteddfod. Dates TBA by event organisers (Typically late July, early august).

This is a high commitment class for the students who are looking to further explore their strong passion for theatre. With a variety of performance opportunities, students will be challenged to develop their skills and become more versatile performers. Each week, this class trains in essential performance skills such as script work and character building to develop their overall craft as performers. This class is perfect for the passionate actor  looking to challenge themselves and thrive in a supportive environment.

  • In 2024 we will offer three opportunities to perform. The first project, in Term 2, will be working on Shakespeare scenes which will be presented in a guided tour setting as audiences are moved from scene to scene by a Shakespearen guide. In Term 3, the cohort will then present a one-act play at the Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Festival. This class will then present a full-length production ‘Robin Hood’ in Term 4.

Senior Acting Extension

Tuesday 6-8pm AND Thursday 6-8pm | Studio 1 - Noosa Leisure Centre | $395/term *Please note this is a compulsory two afternoon weekly commitment

(Open to students Grade 10-12 in 2024)

This is a high commitment class for the students who are looking to further explore their strong passion for theatre. This class trains in all areas of theatre with the intention for each student to become a versatile, confident, experienced performer ready to enter the professional industry. Under the guidance of our experienced coaches, students leave each class with newly acquired skills, great experience and most importantly, a beaming smile on their face. This is the perfect class for any students wishing to challenge their artistry and/or prepare for tertiary training.

  • In 2024 we will offer three opportunities to perform. The first production is our annual ‘Shakespeare at the Lake’ at the Noosa Botanical Gardens Amphitheatre. This class will then prepare a one-act play for the Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Festival. In term 4, this class will present their final mainstage production, Joan of Arc.

    This class will have Sunday rehearsals in Term 1 and 2 for Shakespeare at the Lake

    Tuesday 9th April - Friday 12th April: Hamlet Rehearsal Intensive

    Term 2 - Saturday May 18, Sunday May 19, Saturday May 25, Sunday May 26: ‘Shakespeare at the Lake: Hamlet’.

Private Coaching

Private coaching is the perfect idea for any student that wishes to excel as a performer. Our coaches are also experienced in training students for Trinity College of London Exams, which is an internationally recognised accreditation.

Term Dates

Little Seed runs classes in 9-week terms over the course of the year. For Term one, we start in the second week of the school term and then for Term 2, 3 and 4, we begin in the first week of school, finishing a week early. The dates for each term are outlined below. See the important dates information below each class to see Extra Classes/No Class Days.
