Mini Acting
Led by Ilsa Wynne-Hoelscher Kidd
Weekly Time Slot: Tuesday 4-5:30pm

Tuition: $245/term
Eligibility: Open to students Prep - Grade 3
About: Perfect for children who are beginning their journey in the world of theatre. This class allows students to build foundational acting skills in a fun and supportive environment. With plenty of theatre games and character building activities, this class is perfect for nurturing the creative passion in our littlest of performers. This class allows children to be themselves, try new things and build skills as performers in a safe and inclusive environment.

Mini Acting will provide two performance opportunities in 2025. The mini actors will take part in “An Afternoon with Shakespeare”, joining the Junior Actors in a short and snappy ten minute Shakespeare play (edited for children) midway through Semester One. At the end of Semester Two the class will perform excerpts from Revolting Rhymes by Roald Dahl.

About: Ideal for students who are learning the art of acting and want to discover their creative side in a fun environment. This class focuses on theatre games, building confidence and exploring foundational acting skills. Students will develop skills in improvisation, vocal and script work and stage confidence.

Junior Acting will provide two performance opportunities in 2025. The class will stage Alice in Wonderland at the end of Semester One and Matilda at the end of Semester Two.

Intermediate & Senior Acting for Film

About: This class allows students to explore the multifaceted and exciting art of Acting for Camera in a supportive and encouraging environment. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, students will learn about the different aspects of filmmaking and develop skills in performing for film. This class is perfect for students who wish to explore their creativity with the camera and become the movie star that they are. Taught by Amanda Foreman, owner of The Next Set, a casting agency here in Noosa, this class provides practical film training for those wishing to enter the film industry.

About: This class is all about letting students explore their creative side in a safe, comfortable environment while learning various skills in the disciplines of singing, acting and movement. Fostering creativity and embedding key skills at a young age, this is the perfect class for children of all experience levels to flourish. Designed for our smallest of performers, this class also includes a snack break. This class is perfect for young performers who are looking to release their creativity through the exciting art of Musical Theatre.

Mini Musical Theatre will provide two performance opportunities for students in 2025. The class will learn two song and dance numbers from the Junior Musical, Dot and the Kangaroo Jr, joining the main cast of Junior Musical Theatre students onstage in July. At the end of Semester Two the Mini Musical Theatre class will also perform in the Little Seed Musical Theatre Showcase joining students from the older classes onstage for a night of story and song.

*Compulsory two afternoon a week commitment. Students choose between Monday & Tuesday for a choreography session. All students attend the core class on Wednesday.

About: This class is all about providing students with the resources and encouragement necessary to be the confident and skilled young performers they are. Each week the class will train in the key disciplines of singing, dancing and acting to develop their skills and become versatile young performers.

Junior Musical Theatre will provide two performance opportunities for students in 2025. In the Winter School Holidays, the class will present Dot and the Kangaroo Jnr at the J theatre in Noosa. At the end of Semester Two the Junior Musical Theatre class will join the Mini, Intermediate and Senior Musical Theatre students for a night of story and song in the end of year Musical Theatre Showcase.

About: This class gives performers of all experience levels the chance to realise their potential in an inclusive and supportive environment. In our weekly classes, students train with our Musical Theatre coaches in a variety of genres that are guaranteed to develop students into versatile performers. This class is perfect for students looking to challenge themselves and develop skills that allow them to become the triple threat performer that they dream of. Experienced coaches and high-value performance opportunities also help prepare students for tertiary training.

In 2025 the Intermediate and Senior Musical Theatre students will have two opportunities to perform. In the Spring Holidays they will present the Major Musical (TBA) at the J Theatre in Noosa and The Events Centre, Caloundra. At the end of Semester Two the class will join the Mini and Junior Musical Theatre Students in a night of story and song in the end of year Musical Theatre Showcase.

About: This is a high commitment class for the students who are looking to further explore their strong passion for theatre. With a variety of performance opportunities, students will be challenged to develop their skills and become more versatile performers. Each week, the class trains in essential performance skills such as character building and stage confidence providing four opportunities in the calendar year to perform.

Students will present: An Afternoon with Shakespeare mid semester two. They will have the option of competing in the Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod in August. Also in August all students will enter the Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Festival. Finally at the end of Semester Two they will present their main project of the year, The Twits, by Roahl Dahl.

This class is perfect for the passionate actor looking to challenge themselves and thrive in a supportive environment.

In 2025 this class provides three performance opportunities for students. In May, the class will present The Shakespeare Tour played in the Noosa Botanical Gardens, this is a yearly tradition that will thrill and delight, offering selected scenes from the Best of the Bard in a stunning location. The class will perform at the Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Festival in August. And at the end of Semester Two, this class will present A Wrinkle in Time, their main performance of the year.

This class trains in all areas of theatre with the intention for each student to become a versatile, confident, experienced performer ready to enter the professional industry. With a strong reputation for excellence and a history of outstanding performers,this is the perfect class for any students wishing to challenge their artistry and/or prepare for tertiary training.

2025 performance opportunities include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream presented in the amphitheater at the Noosa Botanical Gardens and overlooking Lake McDonald. This is a well known and highly anticipated event within the wider community.
In August the Senior Extension cohort will take part in the Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Festival. And in December, this class will present their second full length production of Antigone.
*Additional, non-compulsory performance opportunities are also presented for those who still want more, including participation in the Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod and the monologue sections at the Brisbane Performing Arts Challenge and the Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Festival.

Little Seed runs classes in 9-week terms over the course of the year. For Term one, we start in the second week of the school term and then for Term 2, 3 and 4, we begin in the first week of school, finishing a week early. The dates for each term are outlined below.
